The Rwenzururu King, Charles Mumbere could miss out on attending burial of mother, Christine Mukirania.
This follows ‘tough’ bail terms that restrict him to Kampala, Wakiso and Jinja districts.
However, even if bail terms are relaxed, culturally, Mumbere is exempted from burying.
Rwenzururu Attorney General, Alfred Makasi who is also Mumbere’s lawyer told the Daily Monitor online Wednesday that culturally, Mumbere is excused from burying.
He noted that Mumbere did not attend father, Isaya Mukirania’s burial under similar circumstances when he died.
Judiciary spokesman, Solomon Muyita however said Mumbere is free to apply for temporary relaxation of his bail conditions to allow him attend the funeral Mukirania who died Tuesday morning Kilembe Mines Hospital aged 85.
By press time, a team led by Makasi was working tirelessly to see to it that King Mimbere’s bail terms are relaxed to allow him mourn his mother.
